8 Days Gorilla Tracking Uganda Experience Trip, Nestled in the Bwindi forest is the walking trail for the more active adventurers. This is a trip that will test your physical fitness while you explore the rain forest and its inhabitants. The walk which ends in Nkuringo has its trail head at Buhoma park gate. Through the forest with stops along the way for birds, plants, and waterfalls, and the first night ends at the Nkuringo gorilla camp.
There after you proceed to Kisoro via Lake Mutanda one of the few crater lakes with a choice of doing a canoe ride. Or continuing to Kisoro town and spend a night at Travelers rest Hotel. One of the numerous camp sites or local guest houses, spend a day regaining your energy. Before embarking on the ascent of any of the three volcanoes that is Mt Muhavura “the guide”, Mt Gahinga “the pile of stone”, Mt Sabinyo “the old man teeth” . This is also situated along the borders of the three countries that is to say Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda .
ITINERARY FOR 8 DAYS GORILLA TRACKING UGANDA EXPERIENCE
Day 1: Arrival Entebbe airport.
The 8 Days gorilla tracking Uganda experience starts with Pick up from the airport. And drop to your hotel either in Entebbe or Kampala, Accommodation options: Boma hotel in Entebbe or Cassia lodge in Kampala on Bed and breakfast or Red chilli Hideaway bed only (budget facility) optional activity is a city tour.
Day 2: Drive to Bwindi impenetrable Forest.
Journey from Kampala or Entebbe to Bwindi impenetrable national park with a brief stop at the Equator line for photos. And then proceed to Mbarara for lunch and thereafter continue to Bwindi. Late arrival and check in, Accommodation options; Gorilla forest camp or Silver back lodge, Buhoma community camp ground (Budget facility) and Meal plan: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner.
Day 3: Bwindi Gorilla trekking safaris.
After breakfast set off early morning with guides to track the gorillas. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek. Bring jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet. Spend time in awe watching the gorillas go about their activities. Each gorilla safari encounter is different and has its own rewards. But you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a magnificent green swathe of dense rain forest. So ancient that survived the last ice age. A recently proclaimed World Heritage site, it’s one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth. And its unique, precious flora sustains roughly half of the world population of mountain gorillas – believed to number just 1004 according to the recently conducted gorilla census done in great virunga forest.
There’s also a substantial chimpanzee population and research shows that Bwindi Forest is the only forest in Africa in which these two apes live together. Time permitting, spend the afternoon on a community foot safari to explore the life style of the people living and surrounding the park. Day 4: Bwindi nature walk to Nkuringo
After breakfast the guide will pick you from your lodge to the meeting point. Where the walk starts with all the required gear and supplies. Depending on your pace the walk usually takes between 8hrs to 10hrs, the walk is through Bwindi forest and the journey ends at the Nkuringo Gorilla camp. Day 5: Nkuringo, Lake Mutanda to Kisoro
This next journey will take you around Lake Mutanda down to kisoro. With a choice to do canoeing or just enjoy the walk on firm ground. As you enjoy the view of the Virunga volcanoes. Day 6: gorilla tracking Uganda experience: Rest day

Spend a day regaining your energy before embarking on the ascent of any of the three volcanoes. Day 7: Mt Mgahinga or Sabinyo or Muhavura volcano climb.
Early breakfast and off for the mountain of your choice drive to the base with your gear ready and packed lunch the climbs normally ranges from hours to a whole day. 8 Days: Drive back to Kampala or Entebbe airport:
