On this 10-day Uganda Flying safari, you will get the chance to visit the best four of Uganda’s 10 National Parks that make it an iconic safari destination for wildlife and nature lovers. You will combine road and flying trip as you visit Murchison falls National Park in the North-western side of the country for game viewing and boat ride, Kibale Forest National Park in the west for chimpanzee trekking, Queen Elizabeth National Park for game viewing and boat cruise and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla trekking.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Entebbe

You will arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where you will be transferred to the Hotel by your private safari driver. Depending on the time you arrive, you will either relax at the Hotel or take time to explore Entebbe. Retire to the Hotel for overnight

Day 2: Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park by road

This day, your driver will meet you at the Hotel lobby at 7:00 am for briefing and depart for Murchison falls with a stop at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. The drive is about 7-8 hours, but 3 hours into the journey, you will make a de-tour of Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can see rhinos in the wild. Undertake the Rhino walk where you will also see the Uganda Kobs, Defassa waterbucks, bushbucks, and lots of bird species. Relax and have lunch at Amuka Lodge restaurant then continue to Murchison falls National Park.

  •  Nile safari Lodge/Chobe Safari Lodge (luxury).
  •  Pakuba Lodge or  Murchison River Lodge (midrange).

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 3: Game Drive and an afternoon Boat ride on the Nile.

This morning, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and head out for a morning game drive that will last 3-4 hours. Lions, Elephants, leopards, spotted hyenas, duikers, bushbucks, Jackson’s hartebeests, leopards, Cape buffaloes, Topis, Uganda Kobs, Olive baboons, and Vervet monkeys among others will be spotted during the drive. After this fruitful game drive, you will return to the lodge for a proper breakfast. Later enjoy a siesta and lunch before undertaking a boat on the calm Victoria Nile, until the bottom of the falls. This is another opportunity to get up close to Hippos, crocodiles, more elephants, buffaloes and antelopes as well as lots of Birds. Afterward, meet your guide at Paraa jetty and head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Pakuba to Kasese Flight, then drive to Kibale Forest National Park

On this day, you will receive a private transfer to Pakuba Airstrip. Thereafter, take a bush flight from Pakuba to Kasese Airstrip. Undertaking this flight provides breathtaking views of the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountain Range, the countryside, Crater Lakes, River banks, farmlands, lush rainforests, and verdant savannah plains as you finally land at Kasese airstrip. When you land at Kasese Airstrip, you will be received by another safari who will be ready to transfer you to the Lodge for relaxation and lunch.

  • Turaco Treetops(midrange).

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest National Park, Afternoon swamp walk.

On this day, you will have breakfast and leave the Lodge for Kanyanchu park Headquarters in time for a briefing that commences at 7:00 am, before heading into the forest to search for the chimpanzees. During this chimpanzee trekking adventure, the Ranger guide will provide detailed explanations on more than just chimpanzees but also other primate species, birds, reptiles, tree species, butterflies, and other attractions encountered along the way. Enjoy lunch at the Lodge and unwind at the Lodge while taking in the cool breeze. Alternatively, you can head for the guided nature walk in the Bigodi swamp. There are over 200 species of birds such as Great blue Turaco, and papyrus gonolek, to mention but a few as well as over 8 primate species.

Day 6: Drive from Kibale Forest National Park – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today, you will leave Kibale Forest and head to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the frontier town of Kasese, fringed by the magical snow-capped Mountains of the Moon (Rwenzori Mountain Range). Have lunch at the Lodge and spend the remainder of the afternoon on a game drive, climaxed by sundowner (if the weather is good).

  • Kyambura Gorge Lodge or Mweya Safari Lodge(luxury).
  • Buffalo Safari Lodge or Kasenyi Safari Camp (midrange).

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 7: Guided game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park & Boat cruise on the Kazinga channel.

Grab a cup of coffee or tea and hit the road for the game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park. The Park is marked by savanna plains, humid forests, beautiful freshwater and Crater lakes, pristine wetlands, woodlands, and green Valleys hence making it the perfect home to the big game, thus fantastic for game drives. For the next 3-4 hours, you will explore the famous Kasenyi track and Queens’s mile where chances of spotting Lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, Elephants, Cape buffaloes, and Uganda Kobs are high. A proper breakfast or snack at the Lodge, siesta and unwind while enjoying the Lodge facilities like the swimming pool (if available). After a hearty lunch, you will go for a boat ride along Kazinga Channel to see hippos, crocodiles, and a plethora of birds.

Day 8: Drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Today on 10 Days Uganda Flying Safari , depart on a road transfer from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the pristine and secluded Ishasha sector (home to the tree-climbing Lions) It will take you about two and a half hours to drive from Mweya to Ishasha sector, where you will enjoy a short game drive,Besides the tree-climbing lions (which you will sight by luck), there are buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, Topis, waterbucks, elephants, bushbucks, and others. After the brief game drive. You will continue to Bwindi (Buhoma sector) arriving for a late lunch.

  • Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp or Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Safari Lodge or Mahogany Springs (Luxury)
  • Gorilla Leisure Lodge or lake Mulehe safari lodge or Rushaga gorilla Lodge (Midrange)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 9: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, afternoon village walk

This morning, leave the Lodge by 7:00 am and converge at the Park Headquarters for a briefing and later venture into the verdant Gorilla sanctuary for a once-in-a-lifetime search for the Giant Apes. The walk will take 1-5 hours, and depend on the slowest person’s pace, the forest terrain, and the movements of the Gorillas. You will have one hour of photography after the mountain gorillas are spotted.

The remainder of the afternoon will be spent at leisure or taking a guided village walk.

Day 10: Entebbe, Connect to an international flight.

This day, a private transfer by your driver will lead you to the Kihihi airstrip for the flight to Entebbe Airport. The Morning flight departs Kihihi airstrip at 09:45 am, mid-morning at 11:40 am, and the afternoon at 2:25 pm. However, flight schedules are subject to changes at short notice.

When you arrive at Entebbe airport, a driver will meet you and transfer you to a hotel for lunch or relax if your flight is scheduled for later in the day.
