Itinerary for 14 Days Best Uganda Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safaris
Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe Airport
Our driver guide will well come to the Pearl of Africa as you arrive to Entebbe Airport, he will brief you about your 14 Days Best Uganda Gorilla Trekking and wildlife Safaris and then he will transfer you to the hotel for relaxation as you prepare for the next day activity. Have Dinner and overnight at Hotel No.5 Entebbe (High End) or The Boma Hotel (Mid-Range). Meal plan Bed and Breakfast.
Day 2: Transfer to Jinja – Whitewater Rafting.
Today after your breakfast your driver will pick you early in the morning and drive to Jinja for full day ultimate adventure on the Nile with grade 5 white water rafting and after you will drive to the lodge check in and relax at the lodge and overnight at Either Lemala wildwaters lodge (Luxury) or Haven lodge (Midrange). Meal plan Breakfast, lunch and Dinner.
Day 3: Jinja source of the Nile visit and Transfer to Sipi falls.
You will start your day with cup of coffee and breakfast at lodge and after your driver will be ready to pick you and drive to Jinja to visit the source of the Nile and thereafter drive to Sipi to view the falls and then return to Mbale town to check in at Mbale resort Hotel (Midrange). Meal plan Breakfast, lunch and Dinner.
Day 4: Transfer to Kidepo valley national park (Travel time +7hrs)
After breakfast we shall embark on 7 hours’ drive to Kidepo valley national park with stopover in Soroti for lunch break and thereafter proceed to the park for dinner and overnight at either Apoka safari lodge (Luxury) or Kidepo savannah lodge (Midrange). Meal plan Breakfast, lunch and Dinner.
Day 5: Kidepo valley national park- Full day game drive safari
After breakfast your driver will be ready to take you on wildlife adventure safari along the Narus valley which has most concentration of animals because of vast grass land and water supply from River Narus and after 3-4 hours you will return to the lodge for lunch and prepare for another evening game drive before ending the day with another night in Kidepo at Apoka safari lodge (Luxury) or Kidepo savannah lodge (Midrange). Meal plan Breakfast, lunch and Dinner.
Day 6: Transfer to Murchison falls (Travel time +8hrs)
Leave after breakfast and continue 14 Days Best Uganda Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari to Murchison falls wildlife national park one of the largest national park in Uganda and upon reaching the park we shall do short game drive and we head to the lodge for check in and overnight at Paraa safari lodge (Luxury) or Pakuba safari lodge (Midrange). Meal plan Breakfast, lunch and Dinner.
Day 7: Morning game drives and boat cruise on the Nile
Being your day with cup of African coffee and then embark on your early morning game viewing in Murchison falls which is a home to different wildlife species over 76 mammal and 451 bird species. Such mammals you could see while at morning game drive include the Buffaloes, Lions, Elephant, Giraffes, Kobs, Hyenas, Bushbucks, Warthogs and Leopard among others. It is the country’s largest and oldest National Park and hence you can spot the Big 4, later return to lodge for breakfast and lunch as you prepare for boat cruise on River Nile.
In afternoon, you will go for boat trip to have more clear view of mammals sailing on Albertine waters as other better way to spot several herds of buffaloes, crocodiles, hippos, water bird species and other wild animals as they flock River Nile to drink water. Continue upstream to the base of the falls to observe how water squeezes in a narrow gorge, where you will get out and start off on a 1-hour hike to the top of the Murchison waterfalls, you will see amazing sceneries right from the falls, rocks, vegetation, water birds permanent rainy bow among others. Day 8: Transfer to Kibale National Park. (Travel time +8hrs)
Your 14 days Uganda Primate and wildlife adventure tour after breakfast we shall drive first to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino trekking and after drive to Kibale national park making some stopovers for lunch along the way and as well catching up some bird species. Arrival, Dinner and overnight at Kyaninga Lodge (High End) or Turaco Treetop lodge (Midrange). Meal plan Breakfast, lunch and Dinner.
Day 9: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Wetland Walk
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kibale National Park headquarters at Kanyanju Visitor Centre to join other trekkers for briefing and eventual chimpanzee trekking. Your game ranger guide will take you for a guided primate walk inside Kibale Forest National Park. This forest provides an opportunity to visit one of the habituated communities/part of chimpanzees and spend an hour with them observing and taking photographs. Kibale National Park is home to other 13 primate species coupled with forest birds.
After lunch visit Bigodi Wetland Village for a wetland walks that was designed to benefit the local community living around Kibale Forest National Park. This walk will provide you with the opportunity to see a wide range of birds, butterflies and flora and fauna among others. View a variety of, birds and other insects. Kyaninga Lodge (High End) or Turaco Treetop lodge (Midrange). Meal plan Breakfast, lunch and Dinner.
Day 10: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. (Travel time +3hrs)
After morning breakfast, you will embark on drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park about 3 hours’ drive. You will have an opportunity of passing through small towns, seeing several foothills of Mountain Rwenzori, small rivers that originate from Rwenzori mountain ranges as well as crossing the equator at Kikorongo in Kasese. After lunch, take afternoon game drive in Kasenyi section of Queen Elizabeth National Park is endowed with Antelopes, Buffaloes, Warthogs, elephants and many other wild animals including lions and leopards and then return to the Lodge for Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge (High End) or Kasenyi safari Camp (Midrange). Day 11: Game Drive and Boat Cruise along Kazinga Channel
After an early morning cup of coffee, you will drive back to Kasenyi plains for a game drive to catch up with what you could have missed out on your earlier game drive. During this morning game drive, you will be lucky enough to observe the big cats are out hunting for their prey and as such chances of spotting lions and or leopards are slightly high, other mammals include buffaloes, hippos, several species of antelopes, and many others. Return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch. In afternoon, an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. This two-hour boat cruise is one of the highlights in Queen Elizabeth National Park. It provides you an opportunity to view over 300 birds enjoy resting on trees along the shores of the Channel, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes and hippos among others can be seen while on boat trip. Return to the lodge for Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge (High End) or Kasenyi safari Camp (Midrange). Meal plan Breakfast, lunch and Dinner
Day 12: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Travel time +3hrs)
After morning breakfast, you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park located in south western Uganda in Kabale district. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to almost half of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas and the only National Park where wild chimpanzees co-exist with mountain gorillas. Your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park will take you through the Ishasha sector know as tree climbing Lion area, and then continue to the rolling hills with terraced gardens of Irish potatoes and Kayonza tea plantation. You will arrive late afternoon for Dinner and overnight at Sanctuary Forest Gorilla Camp (High end) or Lake Mulehe safari Lodge (Midrange). Meal plan Breakfast, lunch and Dinner.
Day 13: Gorilla Tracking and Village Walk
After morning breakfast, you will transfer to the Park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas, then after you will be taken to the starting point of your allocated gorilla family to start your trek into the impenetrable Bwindi Forest. This trek may take from 40 minutes to three quarters of the day depending on where mountain gorillas will be. Meaning gorilla trekking can be strenuous and as such a certain level of fitness is required. Once you find the gorillas, the experience will be worth it and you will be allowed one hour of observation and photography. You will then return to the Park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate in recognition of your effort of helping to conserve the endangered mountain gorillas. Return to the lodge for relaxation and then back for a village walk to learn more about the local people living around Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Have Dinner and overnight at Sanctuary Forest Gorilla Camp (High end) or Lake Mulehe safari Lodge (Midrange). Meal plan Breakfast, lunch and Dinner
Day 14: Transfer to Entebbe International Airport
After early breakfast, drive to Entebbe Airport with a stopover at Equator crossing and en-route lunch along the way to Entebbe and this will mark your 14 days Long trip to Uganda. meal plan Breakfast and lunch.
