Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Kenya, and take time to explore Nairobi City

Upon arriving at Jomo Kenyatta Airport, your private safari driver will take you on a ride to your Hotel in the Capital. Your safari driver will take you through the details of this 2-week safari and what to expect. Depending on the time you arrive, you might be lucky to experience the City’s food scene and tour some of the historical and cultural sites like Jamia Mosque. In the evening rest and enjoy dinner while waiting for your actual safari adventure.

Day 2: Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park- game drive to spot pink flamingos and wildlife

After a hearty breakfast, leave the Hotel and meet your safari driver who will discuss the day’s program before embarking on the drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. En route stop at the Great Rift Valley for photography and arrive at the Park in the afternoon. Having checked in and settled into your accommodation, head out for a game drive that will explore Lake Nakuru for its beautiful pink flamingos. Animals like Rhinos, Hippos, elands, Rothschild giraffes, Cape buffaloes and impalas will also be sighted during this drive. Drive back to the Lodge for a nice meal and overnight rest.

Day 3: Guided tours of Lake Bogoria and hot springs

Start the day with breakfast, then make your way to another amazing flamingo hot spot- Lake Bogoria for another wildlife and bird viewing opportunity. This Lake is marked by papyrus swamps, sweeping grasslands, and woodlands, as well as lush blue-green algae that attract the lesser flamingos. Your picnic lunch will be filled with flamingo sights. Also, get a chance to explore the beautiful hot springs in the area before returning for dinner and rest at the Lodge.

Day 4: Road trip to the Loita Hills and visit the Masai village

This day’s adventure leads you to Loita Hills in the country’s southern Rift Valley. These extraordinary Hills extend to over 2000 meters above sea level and cover an area of 200 square kilometers. They are dotted with lots of wildlife species that include Colobus monkeys, hyenas, elephants, bushbucks, Olive baboons, buffaloes, and Defassa waterbucks among others. Settle into your reserved accommodation and continue with your discovery.

Get the chance to experience traditional Masai life from warrior hunting, Manyatta homesteads, traditional foods, unique dressing, bead making to their invigorating traditional dances. Also visit their community-based projects like bee-keeping, tree planting, Masai schools and others. Settle for a hot meal and overnight rest at your Camp.

Day 5: Full-day Loita Hills tour:  Hiking and biking experience, visit to Maji Moto Village

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your Safari Camp and head for a guided hiking experience through Loita Hills. Get treated to jaw-dropping vistas across the open savannah plains with occasional sights of animals that include elephants, buffaloes, colobus monkeys, bushbucks and lots of birds. Descend the Hills and drive back to the Camp for lunch and relaxation.

In the evening, undertake a biking tour and visit to the Maji Moto Village a more insight into the culture of the local Masai community. After this informative activity, you return to the Camp for a well-deserved rest and dinner.

Day 6: Road transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve, game viewing

Our next stop is Masai Mara National Reserve, known for its wildebeest migration and home to the big five game. Besides wildebeests, gazelles, and zebras along with Nile crocodiles sighted during the Mara River crossing, this Park is renowned for sheltering large lion prides, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, mongoose, spotted hyenas, and many others. After lunch at the Lodge/Camp, relax for the rest of the day.

Day 7: Observe the wildlife in Masai Mara National Reserve

Early in the morning, your safari driver will pick you up from the Lodge for a wildlife viewing experience in Mara River. If you are lucky to visit in season, you will experience the wildebeest migration as wildebeest, zebras and gazelles try crossing the River will a lot of stampeding, while trying to survive the ferocious crocodiles in the waters and lions waiting to grab them along the banks. Spend some time observing the interactions and drive back to the Lodge to unwind and enjoy views from the comfort of your Camp.

Day 8: An optional hot air balloon tour over the sweeping Masai Mara savannah plains

Continue with your game-viewing experience with a hot air balloon tour over the Mara Plains where you will explore the areas that are hard to reach via safari vehicle. Explore the different landscapes, spot different animals, and settle for lunch at the Lodge.

In the afternoon, take a game drive through Masai Mara National Reserve with more sights of elephants, spotted hyenas, buffaloes, Topis, impalas, warthogs, giant elands, lions, Masai giraffes, Olive baboons and many others. Once again, you will retreat to the Safari Lodge/Camp in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Ride to Lake Naivasha and sunset tour the Crescent Island

Hop into a boat to the Game Sanctuary while taking in views of the Aberdare ranges, Hell’s Gate National park, and the Mau Escarpment. Return back in the evening for your dinner and overnight rest.

Day 10: Drive to Hell’s Gate National Park- cycling/hiking/rock climbing and game drive

Day 11: Drive to Amboseli National Park with views of Mount Kilimanjaro

Amboseli National Park is one of the picturesque safari destinations in Africa, thanks to its vast plains, free-ranging elephants, and the views of Mount Kilimanjaro up close. On getting to the National Park, continue straight to the camp/Lodge for a hot lunch.

In the afternoon, get briefed by your safari guide who will take you on a proper game drive where lions, Masai giraffes, cheetahs, buffaloes, and waterbucks will be sighted alongside the popular free-ranging elephants. Later, enjoy a delicious meal, and overnight at your Safari Lodge/Camp.

Day 12: Search for the extraordinary wildlife species in Amboseli National Park

Enjoy views of free-ranging elephants and other wildlife- Masai giraffes, buffaloes, lions, bushbucks, waterbucks, and others at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest Mountain. In the evening, you can visit the Masai community to experience their cultures and traditions before having dinner and overnight at the Lodge/Camp

Day 13: Drive back to Nairobi City, and tour the Giraffe Center

On this day, you will have a game drive while exiting Amboseli National Park and heading back to Nairobi City. After having lunch, you will visit the Giraffe center, established in 1979 by Jock and Betty Leslie-Melville in 1979 to learn about the plight of these long-necked animals. End the tour in the evening by driving to the Hotel in Nairobi for dinner and overnight.
