Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in the bustling City of Nairobi

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be assisted through customs and immigration by our Airport representative and later driven to the Hotel by your private driver. Being the largest and Capital City of Kenya, it would interest you to know it is also a wonderful tourist site. The remainder of the day is spent at leisure; unwinding at the Hotel or undertaking a guided walk through the narrow streets to check out the Museum, David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and so much more.

Overnight at;

  • Radisson Blu Hotel or Hemingways Nairobi (for upmarket accommodation).
  • Four Points by Sheraton or Golden Tulip Westlands (for midrange accommodation).

Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner.

Day 2: Transfer to the Masai Mara National Park in southern Kenya and game drive

After a lovely breakfast in Nairobi City, leave for Masai Mara National Reserve in southern Kenya, close to the Tanzanian border. This Protected Area is one of Africa’s unbeaten wildlife viewing destinations and teems with African game as well as bird species. Your journey will last only 5-6 hours with scenic views and you will arrive at your pre-booked Safari Lodge/Tented Camp in the afternoon. Being part of the sweeping Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, it is also known for its breathtaking wildebeest migration.

In the evening, set out for the game drive where the largest prides of lions or herds of elephants you can ever see will be encountered. Relax to the sweet melodies of the wilderness, from the comfort of your Wilderness Lodge/Camp.

Day 3: Big five safari and cultural tour in Masai Mara National Reserve

The whole day, today is dedicated to exploring Masai Mara National Reserve. This Park will always be one of the travelers’ favorite places for game viewing because animals are sighted immediately after you venture into the wilderness. The Park ranger will join you in sighting the different wildlife species that include elephants, Masai giraffes, Rhinos, Topis, African buffaloes, leopards, impalas, mongoose, Defassa waterbucks, spotted hyenas, cheetahs, roaming in different areas of the sweeping plains. If you visit in-season, you will also experience the Wildebeest migration. This will be one of the most thrilling and rewarding game drives lasting 3-4 hours and at the end of this time, you will still want to experience more.

In the afternoon, after breakfast, undertake a tour of the Masai village to learn about their pastoralist culture and lifestyle. Enjoy invigorating traditional dance performances, mind-blowing rituals like making fire from sticks and cow dung, local cuisines and so much more. Browse through their local artifacts and even buy some, as a way of giving back to the local community.

Day 4: Hot air balloon safari and drive back to Nairobi

Your Masai Mara adventure continues this day with a hot air balloon safari through the sweeping plains with views of the Rivers, the sweeping savannah plains, tree species that are dotted on the Reserve’s landscape, and most importantly, the wildlife species. This activity sadly brings your safari to an end, where you will drive back to Nairobi City.
