6 Days Rwanda Chimpanzee Safari Tour

This 6 Days Rwanda Chimpanzee Safari Tour starts with a Kigali city tour before exploring Rwanda’s National Parks on our 6 days Rwanda Safaris with a drive to Akagera National Park for a boat cruise and game drive, then proceed to Volcanoes National Park for gorilla trekking experience on our 6 days Rwanda Safaris and lastly drive to Nyungwe forest for chimpanzee tracking and Canopy walk on top of the rain forest hence making the entire 6 days Rwanda Safaris amazing.

Day 1: Airport pick up at Kigali International Airport

Depending on your arrival time for a 6 Days Rwanda Safaris, we pick you from Kigali International airport. And transfer to your booked accommodation. If time allows can begin with a tour of the cleanest city of Africa located in the geographical center of the country. Not only the capital but also an important business center.

Meanwhile the city  built on mount Kigali a preferred choice of capital city in 1962. Over the cultural Butare or Huye as  now known at the time of independence Rwanda’s attractive capital city.  Built over a series of several hills with an impressive array of hotels ,restaurants and bar some of which are international brands to choose from.  The visit of the city includes the Mille Collins from the famous Hollywood movie Hotel Rwanda. Craft market and the busy Local city Market of Kimironko. In addition to the Kigali genocide memorial in Gisozi a permanent exhibition documenting what transpired during the 1994 Rwanda genocide. Then drive back to the hotel.

Day 2: Akagera Boat Cruise and Optional Kigali City Tour

Depending on day 1 activities, there will be an optional Kigali city tour if not done on day 1. The city tour will be conducted as described above. Then after lunch we drive towards Rwanda – Tanzania border home of the amazing Akagera National Park. While here we shall be welcomed with amazing views of great wildlife on our 6 Days Rwanda Safaris.  With an evening boat cruise on Lake Ihema certainly  happens to be the biggest Lake among many found in Akagera National Park. This will expose you to a variety of nature.

Lots of aquatic wildlife such as Hippos, Nile Crocodiles and lots bird species are common sightings. While on a boat safari and other games such as Buffaloes, Elephants and Antelopes  sighted along the lake.  When they come to drink water and cool off in the lake.

Day 3: Akagera Game Drive and Drive to Volcanoes National Park

Our 6 Days Rwanda Safaris will start with a morning game drive that will expose you to lots of game like Buffaloes, Giraffes, Lions, Elephants, Antelopes, Zebras and sighting Leopards on a lucky day, then drive to the Volcanoes National Park home of silver backs with a Lunch break in Kigali City. Day 4: Gorilla Tracking Safari in Rwanda

The 6 Days Rwanda Safaris will commence with breakfast at 6am, later departing for the Kinigi park headquarters for a briefing and distribution to the family, there are 10 gorilla family groups habituated for tourism in the Volcanoes National Park. After the briefing with water not less than 2 liters, packed lunch or food, rain gear, sun lotion, bud spray, gloves, hiking boots long pants and long sleeved shirts, we set off for the trekking this would be either short or long between 4-6 hours, with the 1 hour spent with the gorillas being the most rewarding experience of the whole hike.

A briefing for gorilla tracking do’s and don’ts while in the gorilla jungle, here you will be grouped eight people per gorilla family then start the gorilla tracking safari experience in the Volcanoes and later transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park home to over 13 primate species but famous for Chimpanzee tracking safaris and it being the only destination for chimp tracking in Rwanda, later go for a canopy walk experience. Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking Safaris and Canopy Walk in Nyungwe Forest National Park

The 6 Days Rwanda Safaris begins with an early morning breakfast and packed lunch. The previous day check in with park at the Gisakura reception center your guide will be made aware of the point of rendezvous and time however you should know that if you’re tracking in Cyamudongo forest it is an early start whereas the ones at Uwinka, staring time varies, before embarking on the activity there will be a briefing about chimpanzee tracking do’s and don’ts while in the jungle,

later return to the lodge get ready for the afternoon 2.1 kilometers canopy walk experience this enables you walk above the rain forest through a walkway that can be accessed at the Uwinka visitor’s center of Nyungwe National Park. This canopy walk will enable you have spectacular views of the untouched natural forest and amazing sights of Lake Kivu. Day 6: Transfer back to either the Airport or Hotel

Lastly the 6 Days Rwanda Safaris ends with a drive from Nyungwe Forest National Park to either Kigali International Airport or to the Hotel booked for accommodation, hence marking an end to our entire 6 Days Rwanda Safaris.
